Dimension Data announces four new global cloud data centres
Dimension Data, Convergence Partners’ investee, announced the addition of four new global cloud data centres in the next quarter to address the ongoing demand for enterprise-class cloud services. The addition of the new Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) locations will bring to 11 the number of Dimension Data’s public MCPs globally, with multiple data centres in each of the Americas, EMEA, Asia-Pacific and Australia regions.
Dimension Data’s MCPs host the company’s public cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and managed hosting services. Each MCP provides end-users in that region with low-latency access to secure, reliable, enterprise-class public, private and hosted private cloud services. Dimension Data MCP locations include: San Jose, California and Ashburn, Virginia, US; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Sydney, Australia; Johannesburg, South Africa; Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong, China.
Steve Nola, CEO of Dimension Data Cloud Business Unit, said: “The addition of these four key MCP locations adds capacity to the United States, Australia and Europe, where our client base is growing rapidly and require multiple cloud data centres to support business continuity, backup and replication within the region. Sao Paulo, as Dimension Data’s first MCP in South America, will create availability for global enterprises to locate data in this region.”
