A colossal tree has fallen. A tree that broke the disruptive ‘winds of change’ which threatened to destabilise the nation. A tree that anchored the land when it seemed unlikely that the centre would hold. A tree that parented and protected the scion of flowers sprouting at its feet, until we could stand on our own. We mourn the passing of our father, a dedicated revolutionary and selfless leader, our collective conscience, a hero and true son of the soil who spent his life in the service of his people (fighting for liberation and equality, and as a great statesman). We as South Africans and Africans are made of the same stuff and will forever endeavour to personify Madiba’s legacy.

Dr Ngcaba is the founder of Convergence Partners, as well as Executive Chairman of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa (DDMEA). “Andile Ngcaba’s appointment into the Panel ensures that South Africa and the continent have direct access to important discussions on future of the Internet.
Andile Ngcaba, founder of Convergence Partners, and Executive Chairman of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa, has been appointed to a global panel to address Internet governance. The panel will meet for the first time in December in London, and its report, which will include principles for global Internet cooperation, proposed framework for such cooperation, stakeholder relations and a roadmap for future Internet governance is expected to be released in early 2014.
A new voluntary industry body has been launched to regulate and monitor the Wi-Fi industry in South Africa. The Wi-Fi Forum of South Africa, led by chairperson Andile Ngcaba, aimed to “create a collaborative and self-regulating body that promotes the effective use of WiFi technologies in the delivery of ubiquitous, interoperable and seamless connectivity in South Africa”.
